Talking about urbanism…

@pablo

I talked in this space that urbanism should take part of my life. I read an article in the diary I work, called: “Environment”, a text wrote by Pablo Aveleyra. In these lines I found some important concepts, and I want to share them:

Mexico City concentrated the activity of the whole country because many factors…

“It seems that is part and parcel of our society and way of life, widespread default except a few points of light, people flees to the drowsy rural poor to take refuge in urban areas that promise a job as even a bricklayer or almoner”.

And the lights are on. I loved this line. It gives a perfect sense of the meaning of living in the “Big City”, in Grand DF. Excuse me; let me continue, because we want to know, in this huge city, how we can be better…

“For me, the factors to be combined are: inflexible will to go forward,  means of freedom and order, curtailing corruption, quality education, civic maturity, commitment and perseverance in ideas and basic faith in oneself and in the community that forms part of; real sense of nationhood, of belonging”.

What do you think? I’m totally agree with Aveleyra. My conclusion is that we need a quality society based in civic parameters and education, but the most important thing, “a real sense of nationhood; of belonging”.

And finally, let me share a thought that came to my mind when I was attending to a conference of the Harvard Business Review here in Mexico City.

“Finding the similarities of individuals is to understand the global context as one”, Escobedo…

Man!! I forgot the main idea but it was something like that… Anyway, I want to show you the next videos: Circus (Circo) of Damn Neighborhood (La Maldita Vecindad) and Clouds (Nubes) of Caifanes. For me, this videos reflect in a perfect way the similarities in economic low class people or popular places, as you want to read, during the 90s in Mexico City. Enjoy...
